Biotechnology Education Workshop  The course's focus was to instruct Iowa life science teachers in the basic principles and technologies of biotechnology. Teachers received instruction in course content related to hands-on activities, learned how to manage time in preparing lab activities, and perform the lab activities as students would in their classrooms. The activities teachers receive basic content and lab techniques training include: DNA extraction, DNA transformation, DNA restriction analysis, DNA isolation and analysis. The course will provide the teachers with the content and technical knowledge to integrate biotechnology principles and techniques into their science curricula.
