| Des Moines County School Enrichment Program |
Hands-on science, math and engineering education in K-5
classrooms throughout Des Moines County. The program seeks
to develop a clearer understanding of how science relates to
everyday life and engender an interest in a science as a
possible career choice. Currently 64 separate lessons are
available (not all for all grade levels). During the
2005-2006 school years, 734 classes were taught resulting in
14,069 student contacts. These student contacts represent
2,310 unduplicated youth. The program is coordinated by
Rhonda Coffey, Des Moines County School Enrichment
Coordinator and certified elementary teacher.
