High School Student Summit for Math & Science   This Summit has been organized to gather student perspectives on high school math and science as well as their perceptions on math and science related careers. The Summit is scheduled for Nov. 7th, 2007 at Price Lab School. Fifty student teams from high schools across the state, along with their faculty sponsors, have already been accepted to the Summit. Student teams will return to their home schools, where they will develop and implement projects designed to accomplish one of three objectives: 1)increase enrollment in high school math & science courses, 2) increase student achievement in high school math & science or 3) increase the number of students choosing math or science related careers.

Survey of Iowa Math & Science Teachers  In an effort to better meet the needs of Iowa PK-12 science teaching, the University of Northern Iowa in cooperation with the Iowa Math-Science Coalition is collecting data from all Iowa PK-12 teachers. The data from this electronic survey will be used to help guide future efforts in teacher education and professional development in science and math education.
