| Hansen/Lincoln ES First Lego League team |
This FLL team consists of children from 3rd - 6th grade in Hansen and Lincoln Elementary School. FLL is an international competitive program requiring teams to creatively program a Lego NXT robot to perform 9 missions and to present their research for a solution to a thematic topic. Last year's team won third place overall in statewide championship.

| Improving Chemistry Teaching in Iowa |
Funding to survey the use of chemistry laboratory experiments in the State of Iowa to ascertain the needs of Iowas high school chemistry teachers with respect to doing lab activities and to conduct workshops to train chemistry teachers to effectively implement student-oriented guided inquiry teaching strategies.
