| Iowa Biotech Workforce Development Project |
This project's goals are to grow the biotechnology workforce
base through several activities (all have some STEM
applications): Outreach to middle and high school students
and the public about the biotech field utilizing a 3D
virtual reality, DNA activities, and bioprocessing
presentation. Offer professional development opportunities
with activities to educators in the areas of science and
technology (biotechnology). Develop and deliver training
opportunities for person in the bioprocessing and ethanol
industries. Develop curriculum for biotechnology technicians
in the area of proteomics.

| National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce in Agricultural Bioprocessing and Renewable Fuels |
The goals of this project include: co-sponsoring the
Heartland AEA SEMI lab to help bring biotechnology
activities to schools around Iowa; sponsor biotech
educational activities at regional and national events;
provide product development and process assistance for
bioprocessing entrepreneurs and businesses with IHCC
students, enhancing their educational opportunities. Work
with industry to develop skill standards and training for
bioprocess technicians, ethanol technicians, and plant
operators.
