Project RAISE at UNI  UNIs RAISE Project in the College of Natural Sciences matches teachers to researchers for a summer of discovery, followed by an academic year of support by science education specialists. This is not your typical professional development! RAISE is a response to growing evidence that lab research opportunities for science teachers have several effects: 1) Bolstered content mastery in a field of science for more confident teaching; 2) Heightened awareness of the nature of science for more accurately reflecting that in teaching; 3) Establishment of valuable professional relationships with university colleagues; 4) Recruitment of high school students into collegiate science fields.
