| Iowa Electrathon |
The Iowa Electrathon program and competitions involve high schools and colleges throughout Iowa and adjacent states in research, design, building, and racing Electrathon cars. These cars are one-person electric vehicles powered by batteries. Our goal is to bring attention to the environmental problems of conventional cars and to demonstrate the viability of electrics. The program encourages students to consider careers in science, engineering, and industrial technology.

| Junior Solar Sprint |
Junior Solar Sprint is an activity that middle school
students participate in to learn about renewable energy.
Middle school students build model solar powered cars in a
variety of locations around Iowa. Some of them are built in
after school programs and then raced within the school.
Others hold local competitions around Iowa against other
schools.
