| Iowa Student STEM Symposium |
This Iowa Student STEM Symposiums will bring high school students and instructors together to: increase the number of students taking math and science courses in our high schools, attain a higher level of achievement from students taking math/science, and inform a greater number of students about careers in math and science. This Symposium plans to bring in teams of 4 students from 40 districts throughout Iowa. An instructor to support and mentor their team will accompany each team. Teams will be trained in developing science or math clubs in their district and will be informed of the many state competitions they can enter. In addition, students will have the opportunity to build advertising campaigns to increase the support mathematics and science in their district and community.
